Today was another day where there was not a lot of loose fish, just a few schools. The fish were not jumping out of the water or making themselves obvious which made it even harder to get the boat over them. We only had one shot at the bluefin today and they really didn't stick around that long. The wind came up in the afternoon which made it even tougher - today ended up being a drive-around-day. We ran out from the yellowtail grounds in the nicest weather of our new 2012 season. We looked forward to glassing in grease calm weather but like everything, there is always the other side to the story. Today the ocean had the swimming pool effect where the top layer of the ocean was warm due to no wind and glassy conditions, so it was impossible to work any kind of temperature edge.
