The afternoon half-day boat had fantastic local fishing with 20 anglers landing 70 15-25# Yellowtail. Surface iron and fly-lined live bait were the best methods for getting a bite.
The San Diego's 3/4 day trip fished U.S. waters for Bluefin Tuna and Yellowtail. At last report he was in a Bluefin stop and had Tuna to 40 pounds and Yellowtail to 25 pounds. Final report to follow.
Rock 'n' Roll Marathon
If you are fishing or Whale Watching this Sunday (5/31), especially on any morning trip, please be aware the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon will be taking place. While they do their best to minimize the impact, there will be road closures. You should take this in to account and be prepared to take alternate routes to get here. Give yourself extra time to make sure you arrive on time and not miss your trip. While Sea World Drive may be open, it might not be the optimal route to take, and may be backed up. If you are travelling 5 South, exiting at Grand/Garnet may be a better option. For more detailed information, check their website.
