Anglers have been wondering what's happening with former Excel skipper Shawn Steward. He's fishing, of course; this morning, June 28, Shawn told Bill Roecker he was "...at the BKR (Big Kelp Reef) off Point Dume, catching bass and barracuda aboard the 50-foot Aloha Spirit, in 66-degree water.
"Last Friday," Steward continued, "we had ten passengers catch 32 yellowtail from ten to 25 pounds.
"Right now there's bonito around, too, but they're not biting."
Shawn said on January first, he'll be taking over the Aloha Spirit as owner.
