Matt Salas and Al Tokunaga have been sponsoring trips aboard the boat since me and Sam bought the rig in early 2002 and have been fantastic hosts. Over the years we have seen a lot of different things and places and have also managed to catch a few fish. The one thing that we can promise is that no two years are exactly the same. This year scratch fishing on quality yellows was the game as many of the fish were probably personal bests. The ocean throws us a variety of pitches and the only guarantee that we can give is that we will try our best to get a hit.

We worked hard at it all day trying various spots and ended up scratching some decent fish. We saw sign of tuna in many places but they were reluctant to bite. It isn't a bad consulation prize to instead have to catch some beautiful grade yellows such as the one Raymond Lim caught with the assist from our own Austin Moss.
